About Professional

The Ecoshelta system has been designed and developed by Stephen Sainsbury Architect over thirty years in response to the repeated deployment of similar structural frames and modular panel system buildings for remote and difficult sites around the country.

Ecoshelta pods have been, designed, developed and refined over the decades from a humble start with Japanese joined timber framed pavilions in the remote Tasmanian wilderness, through steel joined timber frames, welded and bolted steel frames, panellised systems and now to the latest marine grade structural aluminium high strength light weight alloy frame system using state of the art composite structural insulated panel roof, wall and floor technologies.

These are state of the art, practical and environmentally responsible buildings.

Architect and builder Stephen Sainsbury specialises in environmentally and ecologically sound beautiful places to shelter, undertaking the building process in the belief that environmentally responsible buildings can be luxurious, inspiring and beautiful places to live, work and play.

The practice aim is to achieve the highest possible aesthetic return for the lowest achievable ecological impact.

We believe that if, in the making of sustainable buildings, we can lessen the consumption of resources, this not only reduces the detrimental impact of our culture but can also inspire responsibility in other areas. Ecologically sensitive buildings will come to symbolise a more mature, environmentally aware culture, showcasing sustainable architectural innovations.
