Understanding Maintain My House

What is MMH?

Maintain my House is a home maintenance platform; connecting professionals with clients in a variety of ways.

 

Who/what is the professional?

The professional is the person that is available for hire, he/she will perform a service for the client.

 

Who/what is the client/job provider?

The client is the person who posts a job for a professional to quote on; or additionally the client is the person who hires a professional directly via contact or calendar.

 

What are the subscription fees

Professionals are the only party that requires a subscription. We offer 2 different subscription options; monthly and annually.

 

Monthly - $9.95 per month

Annually - $95 per annum

 

Can I get a free trial

We offer a 1 month free trial to new users. If you decide to stay subscribed; you will be billed for your subscription the day after 1 month expires. You can cancel your free trial anytime in within that 1 month and you will not be charged anything.

To cancel your free trial click “My Profile”, then “Plan Settings”, then “Cancel Free Trial”.

 

Account & profile

Who needs to sign up

Both the professional and the client will need to sign up to use MMH; there will be a subscription fee for professionals, however it is completely free for clients.

How do I sign up

Click “Register” in the top right hand corner of the page; fill in all necessary information.

 

What should I add to my Professional profile

All the necessary and relevant information about you and your business that will help clients understand what you do and will aid in identifying what differentiates your business from others. Furthermore, any pictures, videos or links that will most importantly help entice clients to choose you over your competition.

 

What if I forget my password

Click “log in” in the top right hand corner of the page

Click “lost password” near the login form

Enter your email and a recovery link will be sent to your email, allowing you to create a new password.

 

Can I delete my account

Yes you can.

Simply login to your account

Click on “My profile’ in top right corner of page

Click “Delete account”

 

Payments and Invoicing

How does payment work (between a professional and a client)

Payment is done external to the site. Payment methods are subjective to each professional; check the professionals profile page to see their available payment methods.

 

How does invoicing work

When the job has been completed, the professional sends an invoice through the MMH system. The client is then notified and makes payment with one of the available payment options. The professional is then notified and the job can now be marked “closed”.

 

Jobs and Quotes

How quotes work

Firstly you will send a quote for a job; then if the client chooses to accept your quote, you will then be notified and will still have to confirm and accept for the job to begin. Therefore your quote is not a final offer that can be accepted, it is a basic quote and you will still need to confirm the client’s acceptance of your quote before the contract begins.

 

Can I retract or edit a quote

You can edit or delete a quote by going to “my profile”, then

under “My Jobs” click “submitted quotes”.

Now click edit or delete on the desired quote

(This is available only if the job has not yet started)

 

Can I cancel a job after ive been hired (as the professional)

Once a job has started; a contract has also started. It is entirely between you and the client to come to some sort of understanding. Keep in mind that if this is done unprofessionally; the client may leave negative feedback, possibly damaging your reputation on the site.

 

Can I cancel a job after I’ve hired someone (as the client)

Once a job has started; a contract has also started. It is entirely between you and the professional to come to some sort of understanding. Keep in mind that if this is done unprofessionally; the professional may leave negative feedback, possibly damaging your reputation on the site.

 

What if I’m not happy with the job

In regards to insurance or refunds; that is entirely between you and the professional and his/her business policies that should be readable on their professional profile.

In regards to our site; if such a situation does arise we highly recommend you leave honest and accurate feedback on the professional for the unsatisfactory job.

 

What if the job ends up costing more than the quote

It is your responsibility as a professional to include all costs in your quote. Once the quote has been accepted from both parties, and the job has begun; the contract has then started with the already determined and agreed on price.

How do I contact a professional

On their professional profile : there is a form on the right you can fill out to send a message.

During a job : Click on “my profile”, then on ”job listing”, then “manage”. Here click “message” and you can send messages about the job.

 

How do I contact the Client

On their job profile: there is a form on the right you can fill out to send a message.

During a job : Click on “my profile”, then on ”awarded jobs”, then “actions”, then “manage”. Here click “update job status” and you can send messages and updates about the job.

Reviews

How do the reviews work

As a professional – Click on “My Profile”, then “awarded jobs”, then choose the specific job and click “action”, then “leave review”. This is a review based on your experience with the client throughout the job.

As a client - Click on “My Profile”, then “job listing”, then choose the specific job and click “close and leave review”. Things to consider in your review include the quality, the professionalism, the cost, the timing and your overall experience with the professional throughout the job.

 

Can I change a review

No, reviews are final and cannot be changed. Therefore, please be honest and accurate with all reviews as feedback has the power to change someone’s reputation and therefore affect their livelihood.
