In 1957 Wal Parry began recovering furniture in his living room. Ray Williams soon after joined in the business and they moved into a factory in Sandgate where the business grew. Wal sadly passed away in 1967 leaving Ray to keep up with the high demand alone. Ray continued trading as Parry & Williams out of respect for Wal.
Eventually, 3 of Ray Senior's children joined the business where they all continue to work today. in 1997 Ray senior retired from the day-to-day running of the business in which he intrusts his 2 eldest sons Steven and Raymond Williams. Many apprentices who have now gone on to build their own businesses still look to the Williams family for advice and guidance.
