Most people concentrate only on the outward appearance of their car to the detriment of the inner. While your ride’s exterior is not to be neglected, interior upkeep remains the most important. When the interior is left unattended to, it easily becomes a haven of debris and dirt. With left over coffee stains, smudgy windows, untidy mystery crumbs and goo, etc.,your vehicle will ooze uncomfortably, as it becomes a potent allergen host. It is somewhat incredible how fast car interior gets filled up with filth. Hence, interior detailing should be as thorough and frequent as exterior detailing. You will need garbagebags, a small plastic bin, microfiber cloths, glass cleaner, wipes, Stiff bristled brush, Bucket, power washer, vinegar, dish soap, air-conditioner treatment, a hand vac and paper towels. With these tools in hand, below is the basic checklist to effectivelydetail yourvehicle interior.

  1. Remove All Trash

The first activities that aids proper interior cleaning is to remove all seeable dirt from inside your ride. Toss all items that are not supposed to be inside the car into the small plastic bin and trash dirt into the garbage bag. Unclutter the car, pokingthrough its different pockets to uncover hidden trashes. Don’t forget the trunk, too.

  1. Remove the Floor Mats

Next, Remove all floor mats and carpets. Dislodge any dirt off the floor mat by whacking them against one another. Using your power washer, spray and brush the mats to eliminate dirt and grime. With the aid of your detailing brush, loosen up debris off the carpets. Vacuumthem and leave to dry.

  1. Move to the Headliner

Next is the headliner. You will need to vacuum the fabric, and dress vinyl after cleaning it. Use a hard-bristled brush to clean the surface. Armour with air freshening protectant.

  1. Clean the Dash, Steering Wheel and Glove Compartment

Use a small brush to remove dirt and then clean the car dashboard, using the microfiber cloth to rub off dust. Also, clean the steering wheel and brake pads. If you desire to shine up the dash, apply a small quantity of polish to a dry and clean cloth and rub over the dash. Endeavour to wipe away excessive polish on it. When apply protectant to the dash, avoid same to the steering wheel or brake pads. Protectant makes them slippery. Clean and organise your glove compartment, removing any unnecessary items from it.

  1. Attend to the Windows and doors

Clean your window glasses with auto glass cleaner to remove all forms of dirt and fingerprints. Then, polish with newsprint. you can spray the glass cleaner on paper towels before using it to wipe down the windows, sunroof and windshield.  Do not forget the rearview mirror. Avoid using ammonia-based glass cleaning product if your windows are tinted. This can cause the film to scratch off easily.

For your car door, Use an upholstery cleaner or vacuum fabric areas. And clean dirt from the condition leather. Wipe all debris from the door pockets.

  1. Clean the Seats

You can now move to the seats. You need an upholstery cleaner for its leather. If possible, take out the seats completely from the car. Cleaning the seat will be more effective when out, since you can reach,more easily,every nook and cranny. Also, clean and dress vinyl. Endeavour to wipe the seatbelts too.

  1. Vacuum Everything and Wipe-Off Stains

Finally, Run the vacuum under the seat, over the floor and through all areas of your vehicle interior. Ensure all doors are wide open while vacuuming and shiftfront seats fully forward. You can shift backward later to vacuum the brake pad are and the dash areas. Wipe off all stains, both the ones you earlier missed and the once your hands made while cleaning.

If after good cleanup, you still perceive any strange or unfriendly odour, sprinkle baking soda on the floor or use an enzymatic cleaner. Another great way to eliminate odour is to have few drops of essential oil in a small dish and leave it overnight in your car.
